The MGS Radio Science Team (RST) delivers summary files of radio occultation
measurements of the martian atmosphere to NASA's Planetary Data System
(PDS), where they are accessible to both planetary scientists and the
general public. The MGS RST is also making these files available directly
through the form on this page. There is a label associated with each
summary file which describes the content and format of the file. These
labels are also available here. This page includes options for displaying
occultation summary information in several formats.The MGS RST does not plan to provide software for reading and displaying the occultation summary information beyond what is included on this web site.
Once the form is submitted, a list containing the names of all standard Occultation Summary (OCS) files will be displayed. You may select one of the OCS file names (at a time) and do any of the following:
- view a plot of near surface temperature vs. time from the selected file
- view a plot of surface pressure vs. time from the selected file
- view a plot of local true solar time of occultation vs. time from the selected file
- view a plot of solar longitude vs. time from the selected file
- view a plot of occultation latitude vs. time from the selected file
- view a plot of solar zenith angle vs. time from the selected file
- view a plot of occultation radius vs. latitude from the selected file
- download the selected OCS file to your local disk
- download the PDS label associated with the selected file to your local disk
- download a compressed tar archive containing all OCS files (and their respective labels)
When you are ready to submit your request, click on the
