Abstract
The NASA Living With a Star (LWS) Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) is now in Phase-A of its development. the instrument complement includes the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI). HMI is a joint project of Stanford University and the Lockheed-Martin Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory.
