Incoherent Scatter Radars - Scientific Challenges for the Future
Dr. Anja Stromme SRI International Center for Geospace Studies
Abstract
Incoherent Scatter Radars have over the last 40 years developed to become the most powerful ground-based
diagnostic tool for studying the near-Earth space environment. In this talk we will look at where we are today,
and what are the scientific challenges for the near future.
Biography
I am a PhD student at University of Tromsų, Norway, now spending a year at SRI International in Menlo Park.
My theses work is on small scale plasma instabilities in the high latitude ionosphere studied by incoherent
scatter radars.
